What We Do

Re-established in January 2017, the Washington College Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is a small but mighty team of students who share a passion for creativity, strategy, and real-world marketing. We welcome students from all majors and backgrounds—anyone with curiosity, fresh ideas, and the drive to make them happen.

As an active AMA chapter, we take part in both national and regional competitions each year. We focus on quality over quantity, putting our energy into fully completing 5–10 projects that challenge us to think differently and deliver results we’re proud of.

We also believe in staying connected to our community. Beyond competitions, we collaborate with local businesses, campus organizations, and the Chestertown community to build meaningful relationships that reflect the close-knit spirit of Washington College.

Over the years, our chapter has celebrated some amazing achievements. In 2018–2019, our Case Competition Team earned Honorable Mention for their Wall Street Journal Marketing Communications Plan. For the past three consecutive years, we were recognized as a Top Small Chapter at the AMA International Collegiate Conference—an honor given to only a handful of chapters out of more than 200 nationwide. We also earned an Honorable Mention in the Social Impact Video category in 2025, perfectly aligning with Washington College's mission.

Together, we’re building a chapter that represents the very best of Washington College, valuing creativity, collaboration, and growth.
