Sophie Kerr Week 2026 featured three exceptional events celebrating writing careers and opportunities at Washington College. The week began Monday, February 2nd at The Egg with a Campus Publications panel moderated by Collegian Editor-in-Chief Sheri Swayne, where student leaders from The Collegian, The Elm, The Pegasus, and The Washington College Review shared insights into their editorial processes and how to get involved with on-campus publications. On Tuesday, February 3rd, alumna Amy Rohn '18 returned to the Rose O'Neill Literary House to discuss her career journey to Simon & Schuster's Sales department in a conversation moderated by English professor Dr. Charles, offering students a glimpse into the publishing industry's work environment. The week concluded Wednesday, February 4th at Decker Theater with the prestigious Richard L. Harwood Lecture in American Journalism, delivered by John J. Harwood, an accomplished journalist who has covered the White House, Congress, and national politics for over three decades and interviewed every president from George H.W. Bush to Joe Biden, a fitting tribute to his father Richard L. Harwood's legacy of exacting reporting with a poetic touch and his deep connection to Washington College as trustee, journalism advisor, and adjunct professor.

Marketing Week 2025 kicked off with a strong focus on marketing education and professional development, featuring educational posts, career insights, and interactive activities from Monday through Friday to help students strengthen their marketing knowledge and professional presence. The week included a student-led Market Your Internship Experience panel, where undergraduates shared how they found and marketed their internships, followed by a LinkedIn Workshop which focused on profile optimization and best practices. On Thursday, students had the opportunity to receive free professional LinkedIn Headshots at the Career Center, and later attended a Sports Marketing Panel with industry speakers, capped off by an in-person LinkedIn profile workshop to immediately apply what they learned.

AMA International Colleigate Conference

March 12-14th
Chicago, IL

Each year, our chapter gets the chance to travel to attend the AMA International Collegiate Conference, where we join other universities to network, learn, and collaborate. This year in Chicago, we will participate in workshops, networking opportunities, informational talks, professional development, chapter exchanges, and competitions that help us grow our skills and share our ideas. It’s a great opportunity to work together, represent our school, and see how other chapters approach marketing.
