Marketing Week 2025 Recap
Marketing Week 2025: A Major Success
The Washington College chapter of the American Marketing Association is thrilled to report that Marketing Week 2025 exceeded all expectations, bringing together students, industry professionals, and campus partners for five days of dynamic programming that showcased marketing as a universal skill for career success.
From October 20-24, our chapter delivered a comprehensive Marketing Week experience that occurred online and in person. Our social media strategy featured three distinct campaigns: an Educational Campaign highlighting local businesses including video interviews with Empty Hangers clothing boutique and Evergrain bakery, a Schedule Campaign keeping students informed about upcoming events, and a LinkedIn Campaign emphasizing the importance of professional online presence.
Marketing Week kicked off with three days of high-traffic tabling in the dining hall (October 20-22), where our members distributed AMA and ICC information while directing students to the week's events.
Thanks to our incredible partnership with the Center for Career Development, we welcomed four distinguished industry professionals representing collegiate, minor league, and major league organizations: Courtney Hardy (Director of Athletics Communications, WC), Finley Moreland (Assistant Director of Marketing & NIL, Delaware Athletics), Logan Yi (Ticket Services Representative, Philadelphia Phillies), and Alexis Tackney (Partnerships Account Executive, Chesapeake Baysox). The panel demonstrated the tremendous interest in sports marketing careers among our campus community.
On October 21, we hosted a Summer Internship Panel featuring peer-to-peer learning at its finest. Moderated by Ashley Swan, AMA members Sam Walter, Celia Long, Emily Marson, and Kendal Thomson generously shared their internship application strategies, interview tips, and career advice with fellow students.
October 22 brought our first LinkedIn Workshop in virtual format, providing foundational profile optimization training covering strategic keywords, headline creation, network building, and recruiter search strategies.
The momentum continued building on October 23 with three major events. We facilitated professional headshot sessions for LinkedIn profiles and an in-person LinkedIn Workshop focused on advanced visual branding and banner creation, with participants making real-time profile updates. But the highlight of the day was our Sports Marketing Panel.
Marketing Week 2025 was a resounding success by every measure, significantly increasing campus-wide awareness of AMA and demonstrating the value of marketing skills across all career paths. This success would not have been possible without our partnership with the Career Development Center, the generosity of our panelists and speakers, the dedication of our members who embraced an “all hands on deck” approach, and the enthusiastic participation of the broader Washington College community. Thank you to everyone who made Marketing Week 2025 unforgettable!
